LWVNWMC 2024 ANNUAL MEETING
Saturday, May 11, 2024 @ 9:30am

We are encouraging ALL members of the LWV-NWMC to join us for the Annual Meeting being held at the White Tank Regional Park Nature Center in the meeting room. The meeting begins promptly at 9:30 am on Saturday, May 11, 2024, and the address is 20304 W. White Tank Mountain Road, Waddell. Plan to meet in front of the library entrance at 8 am if you would like to join us for a hike on a nature trail behind the facility. 
This message contains everything you will need to get ready for the Annual Meeting. The Agenda is in the next section of the eblast.  All needed documents will be in that list in PDF form for you to review. 
 
In order for you to access the documents on the website, you will need to:
  1. Go to lwvmc.clubexpress.com
  2. Log in as a Member
  3. Select Member Resources”
  4. Select “Documents”
  5. Select "Annual Meeting Documents" and then “2024 Annual Meeting Documents"  
Please review the following Actions to be Voted Upon on 05-11-24.
  • Proposal to increase dues from $65 to $75 and household from $85 to $95 for the period beginning July 1, 2024 through January 31, 2024 due to LWVUS dues structure changes.
  • Proposed 2024-2025 NWMC Budget with 2024-2025 NWMC Budget Explainers
  • Nominating Committee report with nominees for two elected board members for 2024-2025 with nominees from the floor for Secretary for 2024-2025 (below)
  • 2024 Proposed ByLaws Revisions to bring language about membership in line with LWVUS
In addition, the following documents are posted to the NWMC website for your review prior to the meeting:
Explanation of dues increase: Effective January 2025, under the LWVUS Transformation Journey, all leagues must change the process used to collect dues which is changing the allocations that will directly impact our budget. When a member joins or renews, the funds will go to the LWVUS account, and funds will be allocated to their local and state Leagues.

Explanation of Budget Documents:
  Statement 2023-24 and Proposed Budget 2024-25 The document titled Proposed 2024-2025 NWMC Budget has new categories added.  This is the document you will reference when voting to accept the proposed budget.

1. LWVNWMC is a registered Arizona nonprofit corporation as a 501©(4) organization.  Donations to this entity may be used for advocacy and lobbying efforts to support our Public Policy Positions and are NOT tax-deductible.

2.  The LWVNWMC Education Fund it a tax-deductible 501©(3) charitable organization. Funds contributed to the Education Fund will be used for educational purposes only. To receive a tax-deductible benefit, you must address your check to LWVNWMC EDUCATION FUND.
