ARIZONA FOR ABORTION ACCESS INFORMATION

***BRING YOUR SIGNED PETITIONS TO THE MARCH 16 MEMBER MEETING***

LWVAZ President-Elect Pinny Sheoran will be at our member meeting on Saturday, March 16th @ 10am to notarize petitions.  Please bring your signed petitions to be notarized, even if they are not full.  LWV has committed to collect 10k signatures.  We currently have submitted 1,393 signatures, so we have 8,607 to go. The AAA Coalition is planning to turn in the signatures to the Arizona Secretary of State in early June. That means we have about 12 more weeks to collect signatures. So, we as an organization need to collect about 720 signatures per week for each of the remaining 12 weeks.

March AAA Signatures

WAYS TO COLLECT SIGNATURES:

  • Tuesday, March 19 is primary election day. This will be a great day to ask registered voters to sign.  The AAA coalition needs LWV to cover 3 polling locations in Maricopa County with 3 shifts for when voting traffic is likely to be heavy: before work, lunch hour, and after work/evening. Sign-up information is coming soon!
  • Host a house party
  • Collect at busy public locations
  • Sign up for volunteer slots on Mobilize.  You can bring your LWV petitions.
  • Ask your friends to help collect signatures and get them up to speed by sharing the Do's and Don'ts and the training video.

Volunteer opportunities are also available with Healthcare Rising. They often have a table or booth at an event but could use more people to get full coverage of events. Sign up for volunteer slots on Mobilize.
Upcoming events where signatures will be collected: Ostrich Festival, La Paz County Fair, Tucson Book Festival, Music in the Park in Peoria, Rainbow Festival

PROTECT WOMEN'S REPRODUCTIVE CHOICES

Let's rally together and ensure that the “Arizona Abortion Access Act” initiative makes it onto the November 2024 ballot. We need everyone's support to make it happen!  The “Arizona Abortion Access Act” would enshrine the fundamental right to abortion in Arizona’s constitution. If passed, this measure would ensure freedom for a person to make their own decision on abortion. This is a deeply personal decision that most Arizonans believe should be made without interference from the government.

Petition I-05-2024 Arizona Abortion Access Act

Please sign the petition and consider becoming a signature gatherer for the “Arizona for Abortion Access” (AAA) campaign to help get reproductive rights on the ballot next November. We have petitions, clipboards, instructions, and training to get anyone ready to help us reach our first League goal of 10,000 signatures. With your help, we can help the campaign reach its 350,000+ signature threshold and get closer to enshrining abortion access in Arizona’s constitution.

If you haven't already, please sign up to collect signatures or volunteer to be a HUB or a Depot (descriptions are within the form).  If you are already collecting signatures for the League but have not previously signed up, please do so now so we can keep you updated.
