Every January the local leagues are asked by LWVUS to participate in a Program Planning Meeting to discuss and submit their ideas for programs. This process will be chaired by Karen Devine. An example this year is LWV of Vermont has put forth a proposal to update to the national position on health care. There will also be time to brainstorm some ideas for our League in this most important election year, All members are encouraged to attend and participate.

Description: Join the League for a lively and informative discussion on mobilizing Arizona voters to protect abortion access in our state. The presentation will include the history of abortion access in Arizona, the status of the Arizona for Abortion Access (AAA) ballot measure campaign, and lessons learned from the Ohio LWV’s involvement in the Ohio campaign to get a similar measure on their ballot. We will also share tips for effective signature gathering. 2024 will be the most important election of our lives, with democracy and personal rights in peril. Please invite your network of allies and supporters, family, friends, neighbors, and anyone still on the fence.
Panelists: Jodi Liggett, AAA Campaign Executive Board, and League member; Julie Gunnigle, reproductive justice activist and LWVMP member; and Elisabeth Warner, Communication Coordinator, LWV of Ohio.
