This is a reminder that the LWV/NWMC Book Club will meet on zoom at 3:00 p.m. (a time change from previous meetings) to discuss Part 3 of The Man Who Ran Washington: The Life and Times of James A. Baker III by Peter Baker and Susan Glasser.  We read and discussed Parts I and II last month.  Come, talk, and listen, even if you have not finished the book.

We plan to read Lady Justice: Women, the Law, and the Battle to Save America by Dahlia Lithwick over the summer and meet on zoom to talk about it on Monday, September 18th (unless we decide to meet in August). So you will have three (or two) months to find the excellent book (published in 2022) and read it.  Hopefully libraries will have it available over the summer.    

LWVNWMC BUNCO SOCIAL EVENT

Saturday, June 24 @ 1pm

Come and welcome our new Co-President Karen Devine.  Please join us for laughter and friendship.  No previous experience needed!  The location is Traditions Retreat Center (see directions below).

Please register on our website—login as a member and select June 24 from the Event Calendar. Bring five one-dollar bills and let the fun begin. A light refreshment will be served.
Please note that this will NOT take place at the Unitarian Church. Directions are below. 

1. 18250 W Weatherby Drive, Surprise, AZ.  Head West on Bell Road. 
2. Go past Loop 303 until you reach Bell Pointe and turn right. 
3. Follow the street and turn right on Weatherby Drive. 
4. Before you get to the gate there will be a keypad on a brick column; push 0000#. 
5. The guard will answer.  Tell him/her that you are going to the LWV meeting at the Retreat. 
6. The building is straight ahead on your left.
