What is this?
DEI will be hosting a Zoom Meeting to meet April Ignacio. Ms. Ignacio is Tohono O’odham and a mother to six (6). She studied religious studies and history at the University of Arizona but is especially proud of her Associates Degree from the Tohono O’odham Community College. April is a founding member of Indivisible Tohono, a grassroots community-based organization that provides opportunities for civic engagement and education for members of her Nation. She sat on the State of Arizona’s Study Committee for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and is the Chair of the Arizona Democratic Party’s Native American Caucus. April is a community organizer through the arts, and she hosts an online book club which features Native literary authors. April lives on the Tohono O'odham Nation with her children and continues her research on Tohono O'odham- Missing, Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls and how it correlates with colonial violence
