2024 LEGISLATIVE LOBBY DAY AT THE CAPITOL

Members from around the state gathered to hear Secretary of State Adrian Fontes and Senator Mitzi Epstein speak. They were joined by the LWVUS Director of Government Affairs. After lunch, members distributed LWVAZ policy packets to legislators.

LWVAZ LEGISLATIVE LOBBY DAY 2023

On Thursday, February 9th, league members from around the state attended the annual LWVAZ Legislative Day at the Arizona State Capitol. Members heard from several Representatives and Senators, both veterans and freshman, as well as LWVUS CEO Virginia Kase Solomon. After a catered lunch, they celebrated the league's 103rd birthday with cake and then headed to the Senate Gallery for the afternoon. The NWMC leagues was well represented by nine members.

2022 Legislative Day with LWVAZ

On Thursday, February 10th, nine members of NW Maricopa County League joined members from across the street at the Arizona State Capitol. Guest Speakers included Chris Kotterman from Arizona School Boards Association and Terry Goddard from the Central Arizona Water Conservation District Maricopa County. Senators Martin Quezada and Lela Alston also answered questions from league members. After lunch, LWVAZ members were recognized on the Senate floor.

LWV OF ARIZONA LEGISLATIVE DAY AND DAY OF ACTION, FEB 13, 2020 BIG SUCCESS

LWV of Arizona hosted their annual legislative day at the Arizona State Capitol. Members received updates on the LWV People Powered Fair Maps redistricting program, the Arizona Clean Elections Commission and voting rights. In addition, they met with their representatives and senators, had lunch topped by birthday cake, sang suffragist songs, met new friends, wore vintage hats and overall had a great time. Thanks goes to Pinny Sheroan and her committee for an outstanding day!
